Mayors Cup Best Bass Section Awards

Mayor Drum Supply sponsored the Best Bass Section awards at Chicago Highland Games in 2008. The new Mayors Cups were won by the following bands:

MDS Oct-Tenor-Fest! 2008

Mayor Drum Supply held the third annual 'Oct'Tenor-Fest!' bass and tenor drumming workshop at St. Peter’s Church, Northbrook, Illinois on Saturday 18 October, 2008

A fun day of bass and tenor drumming instruction and discussion was enjoyed by the attendees, who were joined by two terrific instructors from Ontario, Canada:

• Reagan Jones (Toronto Police Pipe Band, Canada) - Bass
• Andrew Elliott (Peel Regional Police, Canada) - Tenor

The day was a great success, with students attending from USA and Canada.

MDM Oct-Tenor-Fest! 2007

In 2007, Mayor held the second 'Oct-Tenor Fest!' workshop in Chicago. We had a great turn out of bass and tenor drumming students who registered for world class instruction from world champion pipe band percussionists:

• Kathryn Tawse (Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, Canada) - Bass
• Simone Reid (Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, Canada) - Tenor

The event was a every bit as well received as the first event of 2006. Thanks to Kathryn, Simone and all the students for making it such a fun day.

MDM Oct-Tenor-Fest! 2006

In 2006, we hosted the inaugural 'Oct-Tenor Fest!' workshop in the Chicago area. The event attracted 50-plus bass and tenor drumming students who received tuition from accomplished pipe band percussionists:

• Cliff Davis (Kansas, USA) - Bass
• Andrew Elliot (Ontario, Canada) - Tenor
• Michael O'Neil (California, USA) - Tenor

The event was a great success and looks set to become an annual fixture thanks to our involvement.
